The Hotel Marion

The Hotel Marion in Little Rock, Arkansas,
was built in 1907 beside the Arkansas River on Markham St.
next to the Old State House.
It was named for the owner's wife.
Famous visitors during its prime were Eleanor Roosevelt,
Douglas MacArthur, Will Rogers, Helen Keller, and Charles Lindbergh.
It was demolished in 1980 to make way for
The Peabody Little Rock and the new convention center.

やっぱり昔はフォントといい
紙質といいシックですよね.....

このホテルはArkansasの迎賓館のようなホテルだったのでしょう。
名だたる名士が泊まっていたようです。
複数のサイトで確認したのですが、
建物も非常にシックでした。

1980年に壊したそうですから
かなり昔の話ではありますが、
古い建物をそのまま使う方法はなかったのでしょうか？
壊してしまうのはもったいないですよね。
